Bill Chase is a legend among trumpet players. You might be playing (or have played) Get it On! in pep band or marching band. That flowing bridge is my favorite part! You should know about the guy (Bill Chase) and the band who made it into reality. Bill Chase died in a plane crash on the way to a gig in 1974. Here’s the band and Bill Chase in all his 1970s mutton-chop glory:
