Hear This Now: SFJAZZ Collective performs Stevie Wonder’s “Do I Do”

Oh, man! I’m just gonna shut up and let you hear/see this awesome piece of awesomeness. More about the group below the vid.

SF Jazz Collective (Avishai Cohen on trumpet): Stevie Wonder’s Do I Do

Aside from the absolutely stellar music from everybody in the band, what really struck me is Avishai’s totally relaxed playing in all registers. Slaying it and he looks so chill! Also, the wah pedal with distortion was just enough to make it interesting.

Avishai was one of the superb musicians I interviewed in preparation for my next book, The Practice of Practice. You can hear his interview here. A Kickstarter campaign to fund the book just started. Check it out!
