Thankful for Trumpeters II

Philip JonesWhen I was a punk kid in Alaska, before the Internet, I was part of a brass quartet (two trumpets, two ‘bones), and it was thanks to Wade Demmert and Roger Schmidt that I was introduced to the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, led and founded by trumpeter Philip Jones. What a great bunch of musicians, in any of its many incarnations, both during and after the passing of Mr. Jones. Here are some video clips of pieces I like:
